Scott began his career in the wine and spirits industry in 2006. After working in sales and management for Young's Market Company and finally RNDC of California for over 15 years, Scott and his family moved to Oregon and joined his father at Nelson Beverage Group in 2021. Scott holds an active OLCC service permit and is WSET Level 2 certified.

Rory Lewis
Rory Lewis is an experienced sales consultant with over 17 years in the alcohol and beverage industry. He holds an active OLCC Service Permit and is recognized for his deep industry knowledge, strategic sales expertise, and commitment to excellence. Rory is a Golden Bar Award recipient for Sales Representative of the Year, a testament to his outstanding performance and results-driven approach. Known for exceptional customer service skills, he builds strong, lasting relationships with clients while consistently driving growth and brand success.

Trina has spent the last 20 years in the beverage industry, specializing in Consumer Experience and Brand Trial, getting liquid to lips for both the industry and consumers alike. From portfolio launches to brand revamps, Trina has been a social connector for products to people in the greater Pacific NW. Now she’s leading the charge in the on-premise and special events for our brands here in Oregon.

Melissa began her career in Southern Oklahoma spending 13 years at the Dollar General Distribution Center which, at the time, was the largest in its network. She gained experience in just about every position available but it was clear this wasn’t a good fit and she eventually landed in Portland. She spent 6 years moving her way up at Oregon’s busiest liquor store working as assistant manager and ultimately taking over as manager for a couple years. She demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the ever changing trends of the industry by communicating with customers, constantly reviewing inventory, and keeping up to date on new products available in the state. She was recruited to Nelson Beverage Group in 2025 and is excited to see what the future holds for the team.

Thomas Burgess

Tom has over 25 years of beverage sales and marketing experience in Oregon. He is a trusted liquor representative involved in all aspects of the 3-tier system in Oregon. He spent a few years managing the state of Oregon’s largest liquor store by volume and approximately 14 years working as a territory manager for both RNCD and Southern Glazer. Tom holds an active OLCC service permit and is a Certified Specialist of Spirits.

Michael Lane
Mike has over 20 years of experience in the spirits industry including various management roles in several Portland area liquor stores. He has a deep understanding of customer preferences and industry trends and is committed to enhancing the appreciation of fine spirits for both enthusiasts and novices alike. He is extremely passionate about the world of whiskey, having completed over 2 years of training courses. Mike joined Nelson Beverage Group in the summer of 2024 and holds an active OLCC service permit.

Jay Nelson
Jay is a veteran of the beverage alcohol industry having entered the business right out of college. His career has spanned over 5 decades exclusively in Oregon. After retiring several years ago, he needed some activity, so he started Nelson Beverage Group with his son, Scott, in 2021. Jay is a Certified Specialist of Spirits.
